📊 “9-Box” Isn’t Always 9 Boxes Anymore

As organizations started customizing grid sizes beyond the traditional 3×3 structure, one thing became clear:
Calling everything a “9-Box” no longer made much sense.
image
That’s why admins can now fully customize the name of their grid templates.
Examples?
  • 15-Box
  • Talent Identification Grid
  • Leadership Matrix
  • Potential vs Performance Grid
—whatever fits your organization’s framework best.
The custom name will now automatically appear across the employee experience, including:
  • Review results
  • PDF exports
  • My Team views
  • Evaluation pop-ups
  • New/Edit evaluation flows
A few important details:
  • If no custom name is entered, “9-Box” remains the default
  • Custom naming applies per template
  • Names are not auto-translated
  • Supports up to 35 characters
  • Available on the Professional Plan

🔌 New Survey Endpoint Added to Teamflect External APIs

We’ve added a new getSurveys endpoint to Teamflect’s External API, making it easier to retrieve survey data programmatically.
New endpoint: GET /survey/getSurveys
With this endpoint, you can return surveys based on filters such as:
  • Respondent UPN
  • Start date
  • End date
  • Survey cycle
  • Survey template
  • Limit
  • Skip
This gives teams more flexibility to pull survey data into external systems, reporting workflows, and custom integrations.
The
API documentation
has also been updated.
One of the most requested flexibility improvements for Reviews is now live.
image
With this update, organizations can now allow:
  • Employees to initiate reviews for themselves
  • Managers to start reviews for their direct reports
  • Different review templates for different audiences
—all with fully configurable admin controls.
What’s new?
🎯 New review initiation permissions
Admins can now independently control:
  • Manager-initiated reviews
  • Self-initiated reviews
image
This creates much more flexibility than the previous all-or-nothing setup.
🎯
Smarter template visibility
Review templates can now be limited to:
  • Admins only
  • Admins & managers
  • Everyone
image
Users only see templates they actually have permission to use, making the review creation experience cleaner and less confusing.
🎯
New “Review for myself” flow
Employees can now:
  • Start their own review
  • Select a reviewer
  • Define review periods & deadlines
  • Add notes to reviewers
  • Launch the process without admin involvement
Meanwhile, managers can still launch reviews for their teams, and admins retain full organization-wide control.
🎯
Improved review creation experience
The new review modal now provides:
  • Clear role-based options
  • Better template filtering
  • Live template previews
  • More intuitive bulk review flows
  • Cleaner success & confirmation states
This update gives organizations a much more scalable and self-service-friendly review experience — while still keeping governance firmly in admin hands.
Setting up career frameworks manually can take a lot of time — especially for organizations with layered job architectures, role levels, and competency matrices.
image
That’s why we’ve introduced bulk role uploads via Excel.
Admins can now upload:
  • Roles & job titles
  • Role descriptions
  • Role levels
  • Competencies tied to specific roles
all in one scalable workflow.
This makes it much easier to:
  • Build career frameworks faster
  • Map different competencies to different role levels
  • Standardize expectations across teams
  • Bring existing career architecture into Teamflect without rebuilding everything from scratch
For organizations already managing mature career models in another system, this update dramatically reduces migration effort and setup friction.
Less manual work. Faster rollout. Smarter competency mapping.

📱 Teamflect Mobile Just Got a Big UX Upgrade

We’ve rolled out several improvements to make the mobile Teamflect experience smoother, cleaner, and easier to navigate.
Here’s what’s new:
  1. New unified mobile top bar
Mobile now uses the same modern top bar experience as desktop, giving users faster access to:
  • Notifications
  • Voice of Employee
  • Upgrade & Admin actions
  • And other key areas of the app
  1. Smarter sidebar behavior
The sidebar now automatically closes after navigation, so users can jump directly into page content without extra taps.
  1. Mobile scrolling fixes across the app
We fixed multiple scrolling issues that caused:
  • Sidebar buttons at the bottom to become inaccessible
  • Page content to get cut off
  • Problems in both portrait and landscape modes
Everything is now fully reachable and scrollable as expected.
We have improved the “Start & Automate” experience in Reviews & Surveys to make automation setup more intuitive, consistent, and easier to navigate.
With this update, the UI across:
  • Review & Survey Templates
  • Review & Survey Automation Rules
will now follow the same design language and component structure.
image
What’s improved?
  • Consistent automation setup experience
  • Cleaner scenario selection
  • Improved filtering layouts
  • Better visual hierarchy across automation flows
  • More aligned behavior between template creation and automation setup
This update reduces friction for administrators managing recurring cycles and makes the entire setup process feel much more predictable — especially for complex automation scenarios, such as new hire reviews and periodic reviews.
Small UX inconsistencies create surprisingly big admin headaches. This update is designed to remove that friction.

🎯 Preset Goal Templates Just Got Smarter and Way More Scalable

We heard the feedback loud and clear: when every preset goal template is visible to everyone, creating goals can become overwhelming quickly.
That’s why we’re introducing two major improvements to Preset Goal Templates:
  • Who can create templates
  • Who can use templates
image
Admins can now control template visibility and usage based on specific audiences, making the experience cleaner, more relevant, and much easier to navigate.
This means:
  • Teams only see templates relevant to them
  • Managers and employees spend less time searching through unrelated options
  • Organizations can scale goal-setting without creating template chaos
For example:
📌 Audit teams can see Audit-specific templates
📌 Grade-based templates can be limited to the right employee groups
📌 HR can safely decentralize template creation without exposing everything organization-wide
This update is especially valuable for larger organizations with multiple departments, business units, or job grades — where template overload quickly turns into adoption friction.
Less clutter. Better guidance. Smarter goal creation.
You can now allow employees and managers to update selected user attributes directly from the app — no admin intervention required.
image
With this update, admins can make manual user attributes editable from:
  • My Profile
  • User Pages
image
This means:
  • Employees can keep their own information up to date
  • Managers can update their direct reports’ details
  • HR teams spend less time handling small profile update requests manually
Admins stay fully in control by deciding:
  • Which attributes are editable
  • Whether users, managers, or both can edit them
  • Which visibility rules apply
A small change with a pretty massive impact on data accuracy and admin workload!

🌍 Localized Rewards Are Here

Admins can now tailor recognition rewards based on user attributes like country, division, and more.
image
Available on:
All Plans
What changed:
  • Rewards can now be filtered by user attributes (e.g., country, division)
  • Users only see rewards that are relevant to their group
  • Supports multiple reward catalogs within the same organization
  • Attribute-based targeting is managed directly by admins
Why it matters:
  • Enables region-specific reward programs with different budgets
  • Prevents users from seeing rewards they can’t actually redeem
  • Aligns recognition programs with local policies and systems
  • Scales rewards globally without creating confusion
